Obituary of Richard George
Richard L. George, 80, of Kingsway Arms, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2012.
Born in Steubenville, OH on February 9, 1932, he was the son of the late Myron W. and Margaret R. Long George. He graduated Wintersville High School and soon enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He became a flight instructor and served 14 years in the military. Richard married Natalie Haden on November 28, 1958. He moved to the Scottsdale-Phoenix area and worked as a Senior Operating Systems Programmer for U-Haul International. He retired following 36 years of service with the company in 2004. Dick was an intellectual man and an avid reader. His pastimes were playing bridge and watching movies, especially the timeless classics.
His wife Natalie passed away on May 15, 1993. He was also predeceased by his two sons, Jeffrey and John Meade. Survivors include his daughter, Janet L. Krahn and her husband John of Niskayuna, his sister, Nancy Mapel of Chattanooga, TN and three grandchildren: Ian M. Gordon, Jori L. Meade and Matthew S. Meade.
Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family at Union Cemetery in Steubenville, OH.
