Obituary of Ward Bailey

Ward E. Bailey Jr., 88, of Scotia died at home on Friday, June 20, 2014. He was a graduate of Iowa State and worked as a design engineer with General Electric. He served in the Navy on the USS Harwood in WWII. He loved music, wood working, camping and sailing at Galway Lake. Ward was active in church life, and volunteered at the Baptist Retirement Center and most recently a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Schenectady. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Elinor; son Paul (Phyllis) of Syracuse; son James (Laurie) of Scotia; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at 11am from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. Burial will follow in Memory's Garden, Colonie. The family will receive guests prior to the service from 10-11am. Memorial contributions may be made to the City Mission of Schenectady or the Mission Fund of First Presbyterian Church, Schenectady.
