Obituary of Stanley Glover

Stanley R. Glover SchenectadyStanley Robert Glover of Newburgh, an industrial arts teacher with Newburgh City School District and a lifetime area resident, entered into rest on July 30, 2014 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center in Schenectady, NY. He was 78 years old. The son of the late Herbert Glover and Roberta (Stinson) Glover, he was born December 15, 1935, in Schenectady, NY. He married Nancy (Fehling) Glover on June 6, 1959 in Schenectady. Stan was a devoted and loving husband, father, and friend, who enjoyed traveling, fishing, sailing, woodworking, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. He was an Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member and officer of the Newburgh Teachers Association. He earned his B.S. degree from Oswego State University and M.S. from the State University of New York at New Paltz. We lost a beautiful person. Stan was kind-hearted, thoughtful, and caring. He was a great teacher and most of all, a very loving father. Dad was like a father to all of our friends, taking special notice in each of them, but never losing sight of his daughters. His memory and his spirit will always be in our hearts. Stan was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy, on July 15, 2014. He is survived by his children, Cheryl (Christopher) Buff of Ballston Lake, NY, Deborah (Richard) Park of Colorado Springs, CO, and Katherine (Chris) DeMacedo of St. George, UT; his sisters, Lorraine (Ed) Bennett of Ballston Lake, NY, and Muriel Prchlik of Milford, PA, and sister-in-law, Suzanne Natale of Fort Myers, FL; his grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, and Daniel Buff; Amy and Courtney Park; and Andrea, Melissa, and Samantha DeMacedo. Predeceased by brother, Arnold Glover; sister-in-law, Lois Glover and brother-in-law, John Natale. The family gratefully acknowledges Kingsway Arms Nursing Home staff and administrators for the friendship and compassion provided to Stan, both when he regularly visited his wife and ultimately when he became a resident himself. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call on the family Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville.
