Obituary of Ann Bracken

Ann V. Bracken ( nee: Civitello), 94, died peacefully August 8, 2014 at Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center following a short illness. Born in Schenectady on March 13, 1920, Ann was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Civitello. She was married at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on November 12, 1941. Ann was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family. She lived for many years on Duane Avenue and was a communicant of St. Lukes's Church. Ann was known for decorating cakes for special occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and even weddings. She bowled for many years and enjoyed the company of others. Her husband John predeceased her in 1993. Ann's family wishes to thank the entire H-3 unit at Baptist for the wonderful care shown to Ann the past three plus years. Ann was predeceased by her siblings; Francis Civitello (Grace), Kathryn Suraci (Nicholas), Josephine Varno (James) and Carmel Roberson. She is survived by her daughter; Patricia Caputo and devoted son-in-law, Charles of Glenville, and her son, Joseph Bracken and daughter-in-law, Hope of Carlisle, PA. Grandsons, Charles Caputo III (Chris Pipia) of Westbury, L.I. and Jeffrey J. Caputo (Cathy Reynolds) of Wellington, FL. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 12th at 9:15 am from the GLENVILLE FUNERAL HOME, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville followed at 10 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. in Glenville. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 5-7 PM at the Glenville Funeral home. Memorials may be made in Ann's name to the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center, 297 N. Ballston Avenue Scotia, NY 12302. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Kings Rd. Schenectady.
