Obituary of Josephine Palazini

Josephine Palazini, (Angelo), 97, of Saratoga Springs, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Utica, New York on April 9, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Josephine and Carmelo Angelo. Josephine was married to the late Raymond Palazini until his death in 1988. Mrs. Palazini was the owner/operator of a successful Bed and Breakfast in the Saratoga area. She was a member of the Saratoga Hospital Guild and an aide to special needs students at BOCES. Josephine was a strong and beloved mother who enjoyed knitting, cooking and rummy, all with a beautiful sense of humor and spirit. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased also by her beloved brother Fred Angelo and her sister, Angeline Ferraro. Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Palazini (Joseph Codacovi), and Patricia Stanburg (Lee); grandchildren, Dennice Winney, Tina Robinson (Kevin)and their son Isadore; Peter Winney, Eric Stranburg (Susan)and their children: Josephine and Piper Stranburg; Adam Stranburg (Kimberly)and their son Eli. Aunt Jo is survived by her nieces and nephews, Barbara Lucarelli (Donald), Debbie Blacklock (Charles Eglin), Anthony Ferraro (Michelle Smith) and Deborah McKinney (Kelly); several grand nieces and nephews also survive. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday September 2, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St. Schenectady with Rev. Robert Hohenstein officiating. A calling period will precede the mass from 9:00-9:45 AM. Entombment will be at St. Jame's Cemetery in Manville, Rhode Island on Wednesday, September 3, with committal services at 11:30 AM. Arrangements are by Glenville Funeral Home, Scotia-Glenville, NY.
