Obituary of George Neuhaus

George R. Neuhaus, 88, of Wakeman Road died suddenly at home, September 5, 2014. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Clyde R. and Margaret Fink Neuhaus. George served his country faithfully from '44-46 in the army with the military police. He was employed in the 40's and 50's by the Schenectady ALCO; he was an electrical contractor for many years and was owner of the George Neuhaus Construction Co. Prior to his retirement he worked 10 years as a maintenance electrician for the Desmond Hotel. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and travel his entire life. George was predeceased by his siblings, brother, Frederick Neuhaus (Eileen) and sisters, Cora Neuhaus and Thelma Brown (James). He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Colleen (Williams) Neuhaus; two sons, George C. Neuhaus (Darlene) of Ballston Lake and Paul W. Neuhaus (Beverly) of North River, NY; two step grandchildren, Shawn Stekeur and Matthew Jordan. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 10 at 10 o'clock at the Glenville Funeral Home. A procession will follow to Evergreen Memorial Park on Central Avenue. Military honors will precede the committal service.
