Obituary of Michael Guerra

Michael J. Guerra, 66, of Glenville, passed away October 1, 2014 at Albany Medial Center, his loving family at his side. Mike was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Michael and Anna DeMarco Guerra. He was a 1966 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. On September 23, 1966 at St. John the Baptist Church he married his sweetheart the former Cecelia Lombardi. Since 1984, Mike owned and operated the mobile concession Mazzarella's Pizza. His life was his work and feeding people was a passion for him. He took great pride in serving his pizza with only the finest ingredients. Besides his beloved parents Mike was recently predeceased by his sister Dolores Clark. Survivors include his wife Cecelia Guerra; son, Michael Guerra of Gibsonton, FL and daughter, Deanna Ruggiero and her husband Joseph. Grandchildren include Alexander and Giuliana Ruggiero and Michael, Alexis and Nieko Guerra. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 4 at 9:30 AM from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. followed at 10 AM by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel the ArcAngel Church, Hamburg St. Rotterdam with Fr. James Belogi, celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call on Saturday at the Glenville Funeral from 8:45 - 9:30 AM, prior to the Mass. Interment will be at the family plot in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Brandywine Avenue.
