Obituary of Edward Isles

Edward J. Isles, 94, passed away November 28, 2014 at Kingsway Arms Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Brooklyn on March 21, 1920 he was the son of the late Edward and Sadie Murphy Isles. He was married on September 22, 1942 to Margaret Fallon Isles. Ed was proud to have served his country during WWII until being discharged from the Army on November 14, 1945. He later became an aircraft mechanic for Trans World Airlines (TWA) who honored him by naming him Man of The Year in 1982. His beloved wife Margaret predeceased him on 10/25/87. Ed was of the Catholic Faith and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Lindenhurst. He moved to the Schenectady several years ago to be close to his family. He entered Kingsway in 2007. "Captain Eddie" was an avid sailor and world traveler. Ed was predeceased by his grandson Gregory Edward Isles Jr. on 3/26/02. Survivors include his son, Gregory Isles and his wife Laurie; granddaughter, Kerry Isles Puttlitz and her husband Joe, and his great grandchildren: Gregory Patrick, Charlie Joseph and Bridget Fallon, all of Chesapeake Beach, MD. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will take place on Tuesday December 2 at 1:30 PM at Long Island National Veteran's Cemetery.
