Obituary of Carolyn Lockrow

Carolyn May Lockrow Rotterdam Carolyn May Lockrow, 74, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at her home in Rotterdam, NY. Carolyn was born September 23, 1940 in Chicago Heights, Illinois. The daughter of Ross Combs and Dorothy Macmullen Combs. She was lovingly raised in the home of Zed and Stella Shinn of Logansport, Indiana until her marriage of 33 years to her late husband, Charles E. Lockrow. Carolyn was happily a homemaker and mother to two daughters, Cassandra L. Fick of Tribes Hill, NY and Cynthia A. Lockrow of Amsterdam, NY Carolyn was a wonderful and equally loving grandmother to Joshua (Kristin) and Andrew Fick, Chelsea Lockrow, Linda Crandall, and Megan Close. She is also survived by her niece, Barbara Combs of Abilene, TX. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland, NY. A graveside memorial service will be held for family and friends in the spring with a date to be determined. To those who knew Carolyn anonymously, she was always grateful to those attending and the serenity it always gave her. Carolyn cared deeply for the rights of defenseless children and was a strong voice for those that could not speak for themselves.
