Born in Schenectady on July 2, 1924 to the late Adolph and Josephine (Kopp) Uttberg, she was a lifelong area resident. Olly was married on March 16, 1945 to Jay Gordon Clute to whom she was married for over 69 years. She worked as a secretary for G.E. before raising a family, and, for many years afterwards, as the secretary for Eastern Parkway United Methodist Church where she was a member for 60 years.
Olly was well known for her cake decorating skills, but more importantly for her love and concern for people. Always wanting to give of herself to help others she volunteered for Ellis Hospital, the American Red Cross, her church and Literary Volunteers. Mrs. Clute was also a longtime member of P.E.O. Chapter T, and a member of the Annie Shaffer Golf League in her later years. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness and generosity. Above all, she will be remembered for her love for her family and her untiring devotion to them.
Olly is survived by her devoted husband Jay Gordon Clute, her children Donald G. Clute and his wife Ellen of Glenville, NY, Caroleen C. Garis and husband Eric of Glenville, NY, Marna C.
