Obituary of Elizabeth Hahl

Elizabeth Griffiths Hahl Ballston SpaElizabeth Griffiths Hahl, 64, died peacefully at home in Ballston Spa in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 14th after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Richard Hahl; her four children, Corey Taylor, Jill Davishahl, Kyle Taylor, Lauren May; and seven grandchildren. Elizabeth, known to everyone as Biddy, was born on May 12th, 1950, in New York City to Paul L. Griffiths II and Elizabeth Griffiths. She grew up in a loving family with sister, Priscilla Clark, and brother, Paul L. Griffiths III. Biddy spent most of her free time doing thoughtful things for others. During the summer months, she spent a great deal of time at the family camp on Schroon Lake, where life was centered around the water, swimming and boating. The winter months brought exciting and adventurous snowmobiling trips to Canada with friends and family. One of her favorite places on earth was Kauai, HI where she loved to visit with her husband and friends. Everyone who has known Biddy knows her as a friend. Biddy was an incredibly giving person who always thought of others before herself. She was a loyal friend, a loving mother, and a dedicated wife. When diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, she remained brave, strong, and positive through her fight with the disease. Her love of life, her strength and perseverance, her passion for helping others, and her inner beauty are an inspiration to us all and will live on with her four children and seven grandchildren (with number eight angel due in March). Calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 17th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home at 9 Glenridge Rd. in Glenville, NY. The funeral will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Ballston Spa, followed by a celebration of life at our home starting at 12 p.m. All are welcome to attend to rejoice and commemorate Biddy. The family would especially like to thank the physicians and staff at Albany Medical Center, St. Peters Hospice / Community Hospice, and the support of friends, nurses, and loved ones through visits, meals, prayers and Caring Bridge posts along the way. Donations on Biddy's behalf may be made to the local Community Hospice or American Cancer Society
