Obituary of Gloria Mazzone

Gloria R. Mazzone, age 91, a lifelong resident of Scotia, NY, entered eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on December 18, 2014 after a brief illness. She was reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Joseph F. Mazzone, who predeceased her in 2010. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, the former Gloria R. Marotta was a graduate of Scotia High School. She worked at the General Electric Company during WWII and was later employed at the American Locomotive Company. For many years she worked at Scotia Wine and Liquor, co-owned by her husband. Gloria was an election official for many years at various polling sites. Left to cherish her memory are her children Felix (Robin) Mazzone, Christine (Gary) Lyons, Mark (Sharon) Mazzone and Jeffrey (Pamela) Mazzone. Grandchildren: Jaclyn (Will) Reagan, Jason (fiancée Caitlin) Lyons, Rebecca Mazzone, Dr. Elizabeth (Thomas) McCormick, Justin Mazzone, and Bryan Mazzone. Great Grandchildren: Lily and Maxum Reagan and Audrey and Elise McCormick. Predeceased by her parents and five siblings, Gloria is also survived by her brother Anthony (Elizabeth) Marotta, Louis (Patricia) Marotta, Mary (Edward) Starsiak and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 22nd at 9 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. with Rev. Jerome Gingras officiating. Visiting hours for family and friends will be held Sunday from 6 - 8 PM at the GLENVILLE FUENRAL HOME, 9 Glenridge Rd. She will be laid to rest beside Joseph in Holy Cross Corridor at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions in Gloria Rose Mazzone's name to the SHIRNE of OUR LADY of MARTYRS (Auriesville Shrine), 136 Shrine Rd., Fultonville, NY 12072.
