Obituary of Carol DeSieno

Carol L. DeSieno, 79, passed away December 22, 2014 at Ellis Hospital with her family at her side. Born in Schenectady on May 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine Caruso DeSieno. Carol was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School's class of '48. She had a long tenure in the insurance industry as an office manager for Terbush and Powell and the Capitol Home-Ille Agencies, retiring in 2001. Carol was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church and a volunteer with the annual "Festa". She loved rides in the country and listening to Italian music. Carol was kind and generous to others. She enjoyed shopping, dining out, and collecting dolls. When it came to mechanical toys, she was a child at heart. Carol loved holidays with her family and Christmas was always very special. She is remembered as a loving sister, "Ant", and friend and will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her brother Arthur DeSieno and his wife Margaret. She is survived by her brother, Carmen DeSieno and his wife Louise; six nieces and nephews: Michael (Kim) DeSieno, Kathy Fisler, Diane (Paul) Wheeler, John (Cathy) DeSieno, Robert DeSieno and Arthur (Lori) DeSieno. Carol leaves behind her eleven cherished grand nieces and nephews, several great grandnieces and nephews; many cousins and very special friend in Corinna Burke. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 29 at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Second St. Scotia with Fr. Peter Russo officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Sunday (Dec. 28) from 6PM-8PM. Memorial contributions may be made in Carol's name St. Anthony's Church Restoration Fund, 331 Seward Place Schenectady, NY 12305. Interment will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenridge Rd.
