Obituary of Helen Kranick

Helen L. Kranick, 89, passed away peacefully January 3, 2015 at Glendale Nursing Home. Born in Pittston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Surack) Klimchak. Helen was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School. She was married to George Kranick at St. John the Baptist Church in Schenectady. Helen was a devout Roman Catholic and attended mass nearly every day. She would often help her husband with his business, Whitmire Broom Company . When time came for the grandchildren, Helen loved babysitting and watching her family grow. She was predeceased by her husband George and her son, Joseph G. Kranick (1977). Survivors include her daughter, Diane Runkel (George) and her son Thomas J. Kranick, all of Niskayuna. Her loving grandchildren: Christopher Kranick and his wife Amy; Brian Kranick and his wife Sarah; Julie Sullivan and her husband Joseph; Erin Robinson and her husband Mark and Jeffrey and Meredith Runkel. Helen leaves a legacy of nine great grandchildren: Ethan and Riley Kranick; Maggie, Josie and Caroline Kranick; and Conor, Fiona, Kiernan and Declan Sullivan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 7 at 10 AM at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Church, Union Street with the Rev. Robert Longobucco officiating. Calling hours will be held Tuesday (Jan 6), 6 pm to 8 pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville.
