Obituary of William Mango

William Mango Jr., 70 of Burnt Hills, passed away January 4, 2015 at Ellis Medicine in Schenectady. Born July 18, 1944 to William and Mary Delmonto Mango, he graduated from Nichols Private School in Buffalo. Bill received his degree in Psychology from the University at Buffalo. He married the love of his life Theresa (Terry) Trapini Mango on June 11, 1966. His employment resume included NYS Department of Labor; NYS Narcotics Addiction Control Commission (NACC); NYS Probation(Fulton County Office); NYS DOCS (now DOCCS) retiring in August of 2003 as an assistant commissioner at the department after more than 35 years of service. His responsibilities included organizing and supervising sex offender programs in the correction system; supervision of the farm program and he supervised CorCraft. In retirement he was the purchaser of used cars for Gil's Garage and a proud member of the "Gil's Family". Bill was a former committeeman for the Town of Ballston Republican Committee and served as vise chair and acting chair. He was a member of the executive campaign committee for Senator Kathy Marchione and served as her community liason for 2nd amendment and gun rights issues. He is lovingly survived by his wife Terry; daughter and son-in-law Adrienne and Thomas Ladd of Castleton and son Gregory Mango and companion Susan Gervase of Hamburg, NY, and devoted grandfather of Isaac and Eden Ladd. Bill leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law Anthony and Rosemarie Mango Leone; nieces Laura (Geroge) Rodgers and Susan (Stephen Rinaldo and their children Anthony and Stephen; brother-in-law and sister in-law Anthony and Laura Trapini, nieces Amy Frisbie and her daughter Ella; Gina and Alex Dannon and Nicholas and Heather Trapini; Sister in-law and brother in-law Janine and Bruce Thomas and their son, Ryan (Amy Howell) of East Greenbush and his children, Frank and Bella. Not to be forgotten is his faithful companion Diva. Bill is survived by many friends that will miss him dearly. The family extends a sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Ellis Hospital, A-4 and C-1 units for their kindness, compassion, and excellent care, especially to Donna (A4) and Fred (C-1) Bill's interests and causes included land conservation, animal adoption, individual rights and those in need. Memorial contributions in his name to any of these causes would be most appreciated. Relatives and friends will be received Thursday (January 8) from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Friday in the Glenville Funeral Home. Burial private at the convenience of the family.
