Obituary of Lorraine Deere

Dateline: Malta Lorraine N. Deere (Fountain) of Malta died on January 13, 2015. Lorraine was born in Schenectady and had been an area resident her entire life. She was born on December 25, 1924, the daughter of Wilfred and Rose Montcalm Fountain. Lorraine was employed by the G.E. Company as a draftswoman for 15 years and volunteered for the Glenridge Hospital and American Red Cross. A member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in East Glenville, Lorraine is a member of the Rosary Altar Society of the church and also a member of the St. Anne Rosary Society at Sacred Heart/St. Columba's Parish. A member of the Scotia-Glenville Senior Citizen's Center, Lorraine designed the first and current logo of the center, incorporating several landmarks of Scotia-Glenville with the broom corn harvest. Lorraine is an in-home artist and enjoys gardening and Bridge Wife of Howard H. Deere of Glenville. Surviving sisters are Rita Schaible and Annette Durrant. She is predeceased by her sisters Carmel Prystup, Cecile Nelson and her brother Celos Fountain. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, January 20th at 9:30 AM. from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, East Glenville and will be followed at 10 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Reverend Jerome Gingras. Calling hours will be held the same day from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the funeral home.
