Obituary of Robert Peck
Robert W. Peck passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at Baptist Health Care Center. He was 82.
Bob was born on June 9, 1932 in Schenectady NY to the late Erving L. and Henrietta (Collins) Peck. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son Timothy J. Peck and brother Erving (Skip) Peck.
Bob worked in the motor pool at Stratton Air Base for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed woodworking, camping with good friends Harriett and Frank Ballou, reading and watching his favorite team the NY Yankees. Bob's greatest "challenge" and pride and joy in life was Shirley (Long), his loving wife of over 61 years and their five boys.
In addition to his wife Shirley, survivors include his brother Henry J. (Snooks) Peck; sons Warren (Nancy), Christopher (Barbara), James (Melanie) and Kevin (Linda) Peck; his grandchildren Whitney Peck (Dustin) Musselman, Raechel (Nicholas) Miner, Amanda (Frank) Covey, Courtney Peck, Colton Wilder, Timothy Peck, Ashlee Peck, Bailey Peck and Miranda Peck; three great-grandchildren, Payton and Brayden Miner and Madison Beauregard; sisters-in-law Patricia (Larry) Moorehouse and Mary (Doug) Crounse as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 7pm Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville. Funeral services will follow at 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family, in the spring at Sweetman Cemetery, Charlton.
Being the true and loyal Yankee fan that Bob was, in lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Mariano Rivera Foundation, 903 South College Ave., Newark, DE 19713.
