Obituary of Michael Baziluk

Michael Baziluk, 96, surrounded by his loving family, entered into eternal life on September 21, 2012 at his home following a brief illness. Born in Schenectady on August 23, 1916 he was the son of the late Jaroslaw and Lukeria Lukinowa Baziluk. Mike was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School and the G.E. Apprentice Program. He was employed over 32 years by G.E. as a mechanic at the city plant. Throughout his life, Mike was an avid sports person having played YMCA basketball and badmitten as a youth. His greatest gift and love was for golf. although he played on many golf courses throughout the country his favorite course was Stadium Golf Club, He was admired for the skill he displayed. Mike was proud that he was one of just a few to take home the Schenectady County Seniors Champion Trophy, which he won in 1979, 1985 and 1986. Mike was able to score his age for 18 holes to the age of 95. He belonged to two senior bowling leagues at Boulevard Bowl enjoying many friendships through the years. He was married on November 23, 2003 to Henrietta Evans at East Glenville Community Church. Mike was an avid fan of both the New York Yankee's and Notre Dame football and always enjoyed watching them play. He relished attending the sporting events of his grandchildren and took great pleasure in their accomplishments. He gave thanks and praise to the Lord for his loving family and a long and healthy life. Why am I discouraged? Why so sad? I will put my hope in God… I will praise him again! Mike was predeceased by his first wife, Florence Baziluk, in 1991 and his brother John Baziliuk. His survivors: his beloved wife Henrietta Baziluk and several nieces and nephews; three step children, Jane (Michael ) Russell of Glenville, David (Randy) Evans of Florida and Michael (Jeanne) Evans of New Jersey and 10 step granchildren . A Celebration of Life Service will take place at East Glenville Community Church, 335 Saratoga Rd. date to be determined. Memorial contributions can be made to the "Terry O'Donnell Scholarship Fund" at the East Glenville Community Church, in lieu of flowers.
