Obituary of Evelyn Wright

Evelyn G. Wright Glenville Evelyn G. Wright, 95, of Scotia-Glenville, passed away peacefully January 31, 2015 at Ellis Medicine. Born in Schenectady on August 22, 1919, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Thomas and Georgiana Clune Casey. Evelyn danced in front of then President Franklin D. Roosevelt when her high school class went to Washington, D.C. She grew up in Burnt Hills. She married Thomas F. Wright Jr. on June 24, 1944. Evelyn was active in politics with her husband throughout the years; she enjoyed bowling and golf. Many friendships were made at Edison Club in Rexford where Evelyn was often seen playing in various leagues and social gatherings. Following retirement, the Wrights wintered in Florida, spending 25 glorious years. Thomas passed away on September 1, 2005; also her siblings, Thomas Casey, Joan Cunningham, Rosemary Waddington and Margaret Gartner. Survived by her daughter, Evelyn C. Wright (Leigh Kennedy) of Clifton Park. Funeral services, Saturday (Feb. 7th), 9:30 a.m. from Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. with Rev. Jerome Gingras, celebrant. Callers welcomed prior at Glenville Funeral Home, 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow the Mass at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
