Obituary of Sheryl Friedman

Sheryl L. Friedman, 67, of Scotia, died peacefully at home December 8, 2012 following an extended illness. Born on March 14, 1945 in Palantine Bridge, NY she moved with her family to Scotia at 4 years of age. She graduated from Scotia-Glenville High School in 1963. Sheryl worked for various office managerial positions including General Electric Company and Tech Building Services in Clifton Park. Most recently she was office manager for C.S.I. Industries in Clifton Park for 10 years. Sheryl enjoyed the outdoors, the feeling of the sun and surf at her feet. She spent her leisure time playing golf and gardening in her yard. She accomplished 2 holes-in-one on the same exact hole during her play over the years. Her beach visits are fondly remembered by her family as she lived a short while in Sarasota Florida. Throughout her life she loved animals, especially dogs and cats. She was predeceased by her father Richard Allen and her husband Samuel Friedman. Survivors include her mother, Doris A. Lewis (late John Lewis) of Scotia; her sons, Richard Alkinburgh and his wife Lori of Galway, Randall J. Decker of Schenectady and David M. Tenace of Scotia. Her grandchildren: Stephanie Decker, Jared Tenace, Jeramiah Alkinburgh, Kyle Alkinburgh, Nathan Decker and Colin Drake; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Decker and Avery Tenace. Sheryl is also lovingly survived by her close friend, Terry Brown. Viewing hours will be held from 6PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. A simple gathering of family and friends was requested. There will be no service. Contributions may be made in Sheryl Friedman's name to the Montgomery County SPCA to support stray animals.
