Obituary of Robert Eggleston

Robert B. Eggleston, 88, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on February 22, 2015. Born on June 16,1926 in Esopus, New York he was the son of the late Henry and Marguerite Eggleston. Robert proudly served in the United States Army from 1943 until 1945. From 1948 until retirement in 1992 he worked as an Electrical Engineer at General Electric in Schenectady. During that time, he married the love of his life Rosemarie Bordonaro on February 3rd, 1962 at St. Rose of Lima in North Syracuse. Robert was a longtime resident of Glenville and more recently of Halfmoon and was always very active in his community. He was a faithful member of the Emanuel Baptist Church in Schenectady, was a Member of the Racing City Chorus for over 40 years and after retirement started volunteering at the Empire State Aerosciences Museum in Scotia. Robert also was an avid golfer. He was predeceased by his sister Irma Avery. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Rosemarie Eggleston; his children Michael (Ramona) Eggleston, Karen (Stephen) Pavlosky, David (Melanie) Eggleston and Susan (James) Blauth. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, sister Thelma (Nick) Rice and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow the service at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery , 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Robert may be made to the Empire State Aerosciences Museum, 250 Rudy Chase Dr, Scotia, NY 12302 or to the Racing City Chorus PO Box 713 Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
