Obituary of Violet Weise

Violet D. Weise, 81, passed away peacefully at home on March 30, 2015, with her daughters at her side, after a brief illness. Born in Niskayuna, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Ike and Ruth Book and was a graduate of Niskayuna High School. Violet had many fond memories of growing up in Rexford, NY with her parents and sisters. She married M. Bob Weise and they were happily married for 48 years prior to his death in 2001. Violet worked for more than 30 years as a playground monitor for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School district, as it was a passion of hers due to her love for children. She was extremely devoted to her family, making sure she was always available to anyone, even at a moment's notice. Violet attended all family concerts, horse shows, sports games and annual camping vacations. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her sister, Hazel Martin, and her great-granddaughter, Brooke Oathout. Violet is survived by her loving daughters, Debra (Clifford Tim) Oathout, Karen (Joe) Bressler and Tina LaBrake. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Pamela (Bill) Wickes, Stacey (Jd) Downing ,Wayne (Crystal) Oathout and Amber LaBrake. Seven greatgrandchildren, five step greatgrandchildren and her sisters, Shirley Griffiths and Vivian Nolan and her brother-in-law, Burt Weise also survive. Calling hours for Violet will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Albany.
