Obituary of Mary Alice Dalton

Mary Alice Dalton, 81, long time resident of Scotia, passed away on April 1, 2015 at the Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Glens Falls. Born in Mechanicville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Amerigo and Mary Bocchi. Alice was a graduate of Mechanicville High School and went on to St. Luke's School of Nursing in Pittsfield, MA, graduating in 1954. She married the love of her life, John T. Dalton, on July 3, 1955 in Mechanicville. Alice was a very proud and dedicated registered nurse for more than 40 years, retiring from Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. She was also very active with the NYS Nursing Association. Alice was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She cherished the time spent with friends and loved ones. She was predeceased by her husband John T. Dalton in 2001. Alice is survived by her loving children Annette Saris (Jason) of Bolton Landing, NY, John Dalton of Scotia, Patrick Dalton (Kate) of Fairport, NY, Stephen Dalton of Greenwich, NY, Marlene Messineo (Tom) of Winston-Salem, NC and Jennifer Strickland (Garry) of Edgewater, FL. In addition, she is survived by her five grandchildren Courtney Dalton, Caroline Dalton, John Saris, George Dalton and Meagan Strickland. She is also survived by her beloved sisters Eleanor Lisuzzo, Helene DiGiuseppe, Lucille LaBelle and Betty Christiansen, her beloved brothers Rich Bocchi (Marilyn) and Robert Bocchi (Dagmar), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Calling hours will be held on Monday April 6, 2015 from 4pm-7pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville. Funeral services for Alice will take place on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at 10:15amfrom the Glenville Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd, Glenville, NY. Burial will occur after, at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY.
