Obituary of Marjorie Krewson

Marjorie Billstein Krewson, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2015, at Kingsway Manor. Born in Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Billstein. Growing up in Altoona, Marjorie enjoyed playing piano and tennis. She served during the war in the US Navy (WAVES) from 1944 to 1946 and earned the America Area Campaign Medal and a WW II Victory Medal. After the service, she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Pennsylvania State University in Home Economics in 1948 and later earned a Master's Degree in Nutrition from Tufts University. On January 21, 1956, she married William Lawley Krewson at Mount Vernon Place U.M. Church, where they both remained active for over 50 years. Marjorie and William lived in Prince George's County, MD for 40 years where they raised their three sons. Marjorie excelled at homemaking and was a member of the Calvert Manor Garden Club, the local Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and the Women's Aglow Bible Fellowship. Her deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ influenced and impacted the lives of all who were privileged to know her. During retirement, Marjorie and William enjoyed travelling and visiting Elder Hostels internationally. Hosting an annual family vacation in Ocean City, NJ became a family tradition lasting nearly two decades. On Easter weekend In 2012, they moved to Schenectady, NY for their remaining years. Marjorie was predeceased by her beloved husband William on September 6, 2013. She is survived by her sons; Robert Alan Krewson and his wife Linda of Hooksett, NH; David Arthur Krewson and his wife Cynthia of Annapolis, MD; and Stephen Richard Krewson and his wife Stina of Schenectady. Her cherished grandchildren: Stephen Krewson, Susannah (Daniel) Crook, John, MaryAnna, Thomas and Christina Krewson; as well as her sister Carole Witman of Billings, MT and six nieces. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11 AM from the GLENVILLE FUNERAL HOME, 9 Glenridge Rd. East Glenville, NY with the Rev. David Bissett of Clifton Park Community Church. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call prior from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place with Navy honors at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, NY, at 1:30 PM. Throughout her life, Marjorie was a generous and cheerful giver and she would be honored by any contributions given for the work of the Lord.
