Obituary of Dallas Rogers

Dallas G. Rogers, 96, passed away on April 22, 2015 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of the late John and Eva Hilderbrand. She was a lifelong area resident of Scotia, graduating from Scotia High School and continuing her education at the Oneonta Normal School receiving a degree in education. Dallas worked several years as a teacher in the Schenectady schools prior to having her family. She was married many years to Alton Rogers, who passed away in 2000. Dallas enjoyed staying home and raising her two sons. She also worked for many years as an area organist for Burnt Hills Baptist Church, Scotia Baptist Church and Tabernacle Baptist Church in Schenectady. Dallas was a woman of deep faith and enjoyed listening to Christian radio and reading her bible. She was a long time member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Schenectady and more recently attended the Faith Baptist Church in Rexford. Survivors include her sons Donald and Lynn Rogers, her grandchildren Natalie (Matthew) Collins and Donald Rogers and her great granddaughter Makayla Rogers. Also Step grandchild Ryan Goodwin. Dallas was predeceased by her husband Alton Rogers, her sister Mildred Lewis and step grandchild Jeremy Goodwin. Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
