Obituary of Edith Fugazzi

Edith D. Fugazzi, 99, passed away Monday April 27, 2015 at Ellis Hospital. Edith was born in NYC, the daughter of the late Joseph and Celeste Albertelli Sverni. She was raised in Manhattan. Edith married William N. Fugazzi at Our Lady of Pompei Catholic Church. For 10 years, she was a machine operator for Kline Sweaters in Jersey City, New Jersey. Edith was also a homemaker who enjoyed knitting sweaters, crocheting, gardening and cooking. Edith was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei and, after retiring to Glenville in 1969, became a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Edith was predeceased by her sisters: Yoli Fulgoni, Kate Ferrante and Mary Basile and her brothers: Paul and William Sverni. She is survived by her beloved husband William; her devoted children: John and Teresa Fugazzi, her cherished grandchildren: Matthew (Christina), Stephen (Dawn), and Marla Fugazzi; and her cherished great grandsons: Michael Anthony and Nicholas Fugazzi. A Mass of Christian Death and Burial will be held at 9 am on Thursday, April 30 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville. By request there will be no calling hours. Entombment will be at St. Anthony's Mausoleum, Glenridge Road. Memorial contributions in Edith's name may be made to either the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 5 Computer Drive West, Suite 100, Albany, New York 12205 or American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Ln, Latham, NY 12110.
