Obituary of William Fugazzi
William N. Fugazzi Schenectady William N. Fugazzi, 102, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Kingsway Arms. William was born in NYC, the son of the late John and Teresa Badinelli Fugazzi. He was raised in Manhattan. On September 14, 1935, William married Edith D. Sverni at Our Lady of Pompei Catholic Church in Manhattan, at which he and Edith remained communicants. William was a sanitation worker for the New York City Sanitation Department, retiring in 1968; also for several years, William drove a street car in Manhattan. He and Edith retired to Glenville in 1969, where in his retirement he enjoyed woodworking, especially building birdhouses and was a communicant at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. He was known for his keen sense of humor and enjoying doing crossword puzzles. On April 27, 2015, William was predeceased by his beloved wife, Edith. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Arthur and John Fugazzi, and his sister, Mary Fugazzi. He is survived by his devoted children, John and Teresa Fugazzi; his cherished grandchildren, Matthew (Christina), Stephen (Dawn) and Marla Fugazzi; and his cherished great-grandsons, Michael Anthony and Nicholas Stephen Fugazzi. A Mass of Christian Death and Burial will be held for both William and Edith at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville. By request there will be no calling hours. Entombment will be at St. Anthony's Mausoleum, Glenridge Road.
