Obituary of Angelo Pedone

Angelo Pedone Sr. Schenectady Angelo Pedone Sr., of Foster Avenue, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was blessed with 91 years of life. Angelo was born in Schenectady, New York on May 12, 1924, one of nine children of the late Anthony and Mary Grace Pedone. After graduating from Nott Terrace High School, he bravely served his country in WWII. As part of the 36th Combat Engineering Regiment, he fought in both France and Germany, earning The Purple Heart in the Battle of the Bulge. Upon returning from WWII, Angelo, and his brother, Peter, co-founded T-Pedone and Son's. During the next 30 years, he and his brothers transformed their waste management business into one of the largest in the Northeast. After retiring from his illustrious career, Angelo pursued his hobbies of golfing, swimming, drinking wine and cooking. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jerry, Robert, Peter, Fred; and sisters, Mary, Connie and Rose; in addition to his first wife, June Pedone. Angelo cherished and adored his entire family and he, in turn, will be missed dearly. He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Mango); his six children, Barbara (her loving companion, Dr. Kerry Harbeck), Angelo (Suzanne) Pedone Jr., Rosanne (Dennis) Carringi, Marylou Pedone (Joe Jackson), Joanne Ferrara and Vincent (Nicole) Pedone; grandchildren, Kara (George Amann), Dennis and Victoria Carringi, Daniella, Nicolette, Christina, Nicholas, Brendan and Luca Pedone and Anjolie Ferrara; sister, Eleanor Sharp; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19th at 10 a.m. from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church with Reverend Richard A. Carlino officiating. Interment will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery in Saratoga. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours on Monday, May 18th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Wesley Nursing Home in Saratoga and Saratoga Hospital for their love and compassion as they cared for Angelo.
