Obituary of Frank Kurowski

Frank T. Kurowski, 93, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2015 at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, in the Hospice care wing. He was born on July 5, 1921 in Manchester, New Hampshire and was the son of the late Jon and Genevieve Kurowski. Frank grew up in New York Mills, NY and was a 1939 graduate of New York Mills High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. In 1950 he married his partner for life, Adrienne, and together they raised two daughters, and operated his business, Kurowski TV and Radio repair in New Hartford, NY. Frank was an avid rock hound specializing in NYS rocks and minerals. Many of his most impressive specimens were donated to and are on display in the NYS Museum in Albany. Over the years, Frank enjoyed tennis and swimming with his daughters, gardening, and of course, rock hunting in the Adirondacks. He recently relocated to Glenville, NY. He is survived by his wife, Adrienne; his two daughters, Dr. Kathleen Kurowski (Anthony Semproni) and Diane Skibinski (Steven); and grandsons, Ryan and Erik Skibinski. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Louis and Longin. A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, May 19 at 7 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. with the Rev. Holly Nye officiating. Relatives and friends may call on the family prior to the service from 4 to 7 p.m. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of 8B and 9B at the Stratton VAMC for their kindness and exceptional care. Memorial contributions in memory of Frank may be made to the Hospice Care Wing at Albany Stratton VAMC, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208. Graveside committal services with military honors will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m. at Crown Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, New Hartford, NY.
