Obituary of Christopher Mauro

Christopher C. Mauro, 16, of Ballston Spa, passed away peacefully with his family at his side June 6, 2015 at Albany Medical Center. Christopher is the loving son of Shelly (Carder) and Michael Mauro, and beloved brother of Nicholas Mauro, they are all of Ballston Spa. Born in Niskayuna on March 26, 1999, Christopher attended Ballston Spa Central Schools and currently was a tenth grader at Gordon Creek Elementary School. His strength and courage was passed on to other's who knew him and he gave people a greater outlook on life. His fellow classmates, doctors, nurses and therapists learned immeasurably from this special child of God. Chris was fond of the simple pleasures of taking trips in a car, listening to relaxation music, swimming in the pool and most of all, just hanging out with friends at school. His family wishes to thank all those who helped him throughout his life; the nursing staff and doctors at Albany Medical Center for the loving care he received; also to the teachers and nurses at Ballston Spa School District, especially Lisa Efraimson. His pediatrician, Dr. Gayle Buckley for his wonderful care and a heartfelt thank you to his physical therapist throughout his lifetime, Karen Dake. Christopher is survived by his mom, Shelly, father, Mike, older brother, Nicholas, his maternal grandfather, Charles Carder (late Joyce) and paternal grandfather, Francis Mauro (late Ann) of Rotterdam; cherished nephew of Caren (Bob) Tucker, Craig (Meghan) Carder, Toni Mauro and Jay (Diane) Mauro; his many cousins,friends and classmates. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of life service on Thursday(June 11) at 10 am at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville. Calling hours will be at the Glenville Funeral Home Wednesday (June10) from 6-8pm. Interment Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
