Obituary of David Pretious

Suddenly at rest, June 15, 2015, David John Pretious, age 44, of Schenectady. David is the beloved son of Leonard M. and Deborah S. (Gridley) Pretious of Rotterdam, a loving brother to Nadine Pretious of Duanesburg and the beloved uncle to Harley Elizabeth Richmeyer. Born in Niskayuna, NY on January 23, 1971 he was a graduate of Mohonasen High School. As a young man, he was fascinated with large trucks and tractor trailers. David began a career in the trucking industry, first with Gypsum Hauling, then W. Larned and Sons and finally Marten Trucking Co., where he drove all over the country. David enjoyed traveling and meeting people through his routes through the states on his C.B. and in person. He had a great passion for the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed food, especially the Mexican variety as he pushed through the Lone Star State! David was an animal lover and especially fond of dogs, especially the pitbull breed. He was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Elizabeth Gridley and Anna Rizzo and close cousin, Jeffrey Pierson. Additional survivors include David John's aunts and uncles: Peggy and Louis Caccavale, Lynette and Roland Pierson, Donna DeLucia, Linda and Scott Whitcomb and Sharon (Late Jack) Gridley. Calling hours will be held Saturday (June20) 4-6pm and Sunday 2-4pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville (just off Route 50).
