Obituary of Dolores Perreault

Dolores Perreault, 88, died on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Schuyler Ridge Residential Center, following a long illness. Born in Schenectady on February 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Thomas "Frank" and Victoria Wright. A life-long area resident, Dee was Salutatorian of her graduating class at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School. After briefly attending Syracuse University, she returned to Schenectady, where she was employed by the General Electric Company. Following her marriage to Vinal Perreault in May, 1954, she dedicated herself to raising their family. Prior to her illness, Dee was an avid reader and animal lover. She enjoyed spending each summer at the family camp at Lake Lonely in Saratoga Springs and on annual vacations with her children and grandchildren in Ocean City, New Jersey. Dee was a long-time communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville. Following the death of her husband Vinal in 1994, Dee became very involved in the activities at the Scotia-Glenville Senior Center, where she made many new friends. Dee is survived by her three daughters; Linanne Young and her husband Joseph, Donna Withey and Shelly Johnston and her husband Andrew, as well as eight grandchildren: Jennifer Spath and her husband Robert, Gary Withey Jr., Joseph Young Jr. and his wife Jessica, Courtney Withey, Rachel Young, Amanda Johnston, Brandon Johnston and Noah Johnston. She is survived also by her two great grandsons, Mason and Avery Spath. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 22, at 10 AM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Entombment will be private at Christ the King Patio within Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
