Obituary of Maria Parisi

Maria Parisi (nee: Casillo), 90, of Land O Lakes, FL and formerly of Schenectady, passed away at Bayfront Health Hospital in Dade City, FL on June 24, 2015.Born in Roccaromana, Province of Caserta, Italy, Maria was the loving daughter of the late Terenzio and Anna Melillo Casillo. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1955 and was employed as a seamstress from 1955­-67 for Cheltingham Manufacturing Co, in Schenectady. Maria was a longtime parishioner at St. Anthony's Church prior to moving to Florida in 2006. Mrs. Parisi was predeceased by her beloved husband Sabatino(Sam)Parisi; her brother Vincenzo Casillo of Italy; her brother­-in-law Peter Zarrillo of Rotterdam; and sister­-in­-law Maria Parisi Borzacchiello of Italy. Survivors include her sons, Giacomo "Jack" Parisi and his wife Dawn of Land O Lakes, FL and Joseph Parisi and his wife Cheryl of Kansas City, MO.; her cherished grandchildren; Samuel Parisi and his wife Stephanie, Michael Parisi and his wife Jessica, Joseph and Cara Parisi; and twin great­granddaughters, Alexandra and Cameron Parisi; brothers Cataldo "Tony" Casillo and his wife Anna of Niskayuna, Giuseppe Casillo and his wife Anna of Italy, and Nicolo Casillo and his wife Caterina of Italy; sisters Michelina Zarrillo, Virginia Lippiello and her husband Michael of Schenectady, and Filomena Semeraro and her husband Angelo of Switzerland; and her sister­-in­-laws Maria Casillo of Italy and Giuseppina Parisi Del Monaco of Italy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services begin on Wednesday, July 1 at 10 am from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville followed at 11 am by a Mass of Christian burial at St.John the Evangelist Church, Schenectady with the Rev. Richard A. Carlino officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home Tuesday evening, June 30 from 6­-8 pm.
