Obituary of Felix Slowikoski

Felix J. "Bill" Slowikowski, 86, of Charlton passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side June 24, 2015. Bill was born in Scranton, PA and later moving to Harrison, NJ where he attended Harrison High School. He then entered the armed forces of the United States where he served in the Air Force from '47-51, attaining rank of Sgt. Bill was married on February 12, 1956 to the former Anna Bajkowski. They raised their family in Kearny, NJ before moving to upstate NY, settling in Charlton. Bill worked for many years in the fire alarm and protection business. He enjoyed bass fishing and the outdoors. He loved being around family and especially spoiling his grandchildren and his dogs. Bill was predeceased by his brothers; John, Edward and Bernard Slowikowski as well as his sister Angela Malinowski. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Anna Slowikowski; his son, Michael Slowikowski and daughter Michele (Kenny) Sloan, all of Charlton. Bill leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Caleb (Jenna) Sloan, Corporal U.S.M.C. and Danielle Sloan and his sister, Verna (John) Paczkowski of Toms River, NJ and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be on Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Glenville Funeral Home from 11:00-1:00pm. A funeral service in memory of Bill will follow at 1 pm from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. with Rev. James Smith officiating. Committal services will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill's name to APF, 53 Maple Avenue Scotia, NY 12302.
