Obituary of Diane Karbowski

Diane M. Karbowski, 66, of Charlton, died suddenly at her home on July 15, 2015. A lifelong area resident, she was the beloved daughter of the late Winfield and Beatrice Pangburn Ragan. Diane graduated from Linton High School in Schenectady. She was predeceased by her husband, Mark A. Karbowski in 1996. Survivors include her sons, Evan (Amanda) Karbowski of Fairbanks, Alaska and Michael Karbowski of Charlton; her beloved daughter, Erica (Michael) Karstetter of Schenectady; her mother-in-law, Stella Karbowski; and her cherished grandchildren, Zeke Karstetter and Bianca Karbowski; four sisters, Pattricia, Leslie, Holly and Sharyn; as well as several nieces and nephews. Diane had taught religious education for a number of years, but primarily was a stay at home mom. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 22 at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., with the Rev. Jerome Gingras officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited and may also call at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., prior to the mass. Interment, St. Adalbert Cemetery, Hamburg St. in Rotterdam. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, are requested in Diane M. Karbowski's name to the Autism Research Foundation.
