Obituary of Mary Barbagelata

Mary E. Barbagelata (nee: Nassel), 73, passed away July 23, 2015 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 8, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Mary E. and Carl Nassel. Marybeth graduated from the Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam, attended Mildred Elley Business School and later received her AAS degree from Schenectady County Community College. Marybeth managed the office in Schenectady for Congressman Samuel S. Stratton and was later employed by Schenectady County Public Library. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Carl M. Barbagelata on July15, 2001. Survivors include her son, Edward Barbagelata (Cynthia), of Ballston Lake; grandsons: Karsten and Brandon Barbagelata; a sister, Joanne DiCaprio (William) of Scotia and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of Life service will begin Sunday (July 26) at 3 pm in the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville. Family will receive visitors prior to the services on Sunday from 1 - 3 pm. Contributions may be made in Marybeth's name to either the American Heart Association or to American Cancer Society.
