Obituary of Kenneth Paupst

Kenneth R. Paupst, 78, of Glenville, passed away peacefully at his home in the presence of family on August 14, 2015. Born in Colonie, NY, he was the beloved son of the late George and Anne Dolan Paupst. He moved to Schenectady as a boy and graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1955. Ken served in both the Navy and Army from 1955 until 1958, was stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany, and was a reservist until 1962. He married Catherine M. Waterhouse at the Van Dyke Restaurant in Schenectady on June 28, 1971. The couple lived in Newtonville and Schenectady before moving to Glenville in 1986. Ken worked for the State of New York as a computer analyst, retiring as Senior Computer Operator in 1995. Ken was fascinated by military and political history and current events. He was a fan of boxing, thoroughbred racing, classic American cars and movies. Ken enjoyed watching sports on T.V. and was a devoted Yankee fan. He was predeceased by his twin sister Carol Ferguson and by his elder sister Joan Clark. He leaves his beloved wife of 44 years, Cassie Paupst, his son, the Reverend Christian Anton Lehrer of Bay Point, CA and his daughter, Kendra Paupst of St. Johnsbury, VT. Ken is also survived by his brother Thomas Paupst. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited will be from 6 pm-8 pm on Wednesday, August 19 at the Glenville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 20, at 11 am in the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville, followed by interment at the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in Ken's memory to the Community Hospice of Schenectady County.
