Obituary of Charles Capullo

Charles F. Capullo Jr., 88, passed away August 28, 2015 following a brief illness at Ellis Hospital. Charles was born in Schenectady on December 11, 1926, the son of the late Charles Capullo Sr. and Nancy Renzi Capullo. Following high school he was employed for A.L.C.O. Charles served his country as a Seabee with the Navy in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre, '44-'46. For 25 years he was married to the former Winifred Zakowski. Chuck had a long career in the automotive sales industry, working for various dealerships throughout the Capital District. He retired from car sales in 1986. He enjoyed going to the Rotterdam-Schenectady Elks Club, playing cards (especially poker and gin rummy) and travel. Survivors include his children: son, Jeffrey Capullo (Mary), Robin Quintin (Terence) and Zale Benton (Kenneth) and Tracy Capullo ; his brothers, Ronald, Armand and Martin (Carol) Capullo and sisters, Elaine (Ed) Crandall and Louise (Nicholas) Mone; loving grandchildren: Justin and Jared Quintin; Valerie Sturtevant, Christina Gonzalez (Samuel), Nicole Knopp (Paul), Brian , Jessica and Megan Benton; and one great grandson, Isaiah. All are invited for a celebration of his life held at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. on Monday August 31st at 8 pm. Calling hours will precede the service on Monday from 6-8 pm. Committal service at the Gerald Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, NY on Tuesday (Sept. 1) at 11 am. Memorial donations in Mr. Capullo's name are preferred to the Wounded Warrior Project.org or to AmVets.
