Obituary of Genevieve Cummings

Genevieve I. (Paradowski) Cummings, 87, entered into eternal life, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center. Jenny was born on April 14, 1928 in Rotterdam, NY, the beloved daughter of the late George and Mary (Maminski) Paradowski, moving to Glenville in 1930. Jenny later moved to Northville, NY (1968), where she made her home until 2013, in later years being cared for by her niece, Vicki Morgan. She was married to the late, Sammy Cummings, and worked for 20 years in the small motors and generator department at the G. E. Co. in Schenectady. Jenny enjoyed being around her friends, playing cards and going to lunch "With the Girls". She also loved animals of all kinds and made a point of sending donations to the local shelter. Feeding and watching birds from her kitchen window was one of her favorite pastimes. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Paradowski; and her sister, Lucy Smith. Survivors include her sister, F. Helen Paradowski of Glenville; her nephew, Jimmy; and nieces, Laurie and Vicki. The family wishes to thank the staff of Baptist Health and Rehabilitation for the care and kindness Jenny received during her stay. There will be a private service at the convenience of the family held at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenridge Rd. in Glenville. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Glenville Funeral Home of Scotia-Glenville.
