Robert S. Alibozek, 73, of Glenville, died peacefully October 17, 2015. Born in Amsterdam, NY he was the son of the late Stephen and Anne Alibozek. Robert was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School and received further education from Oneonta State College where he majored in Biology. He was united in marriage on June 26, 1965 to the former Suzanne Hall (Schenectady). Bob worked for United Tree Nursery prior to his longtime career for NYS. He was Senior Health Officer in Radiology when he retired in 2002. His job was to safeguard the workplace and home from radon infiltration in the public sector. He raised his family in Glenville and was proud of becoming a grandpa which was a central part of his life. In earlier years he formed his own band working gigs in Amsterdam, providing Polka music on saxophone and clarinet. Bob was an avid fisherman, boater, barbecuer, and longtime NY Giants football fan. He enjoyed bread baking, especially his babka recipe, science fiction novels by Clive Cussler, and was a connoisseur of beer. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Suzanne Alibozek; his daughters, Leanne Alibozek Whipple of Chester, VA and Karen Sicard (Shawn) of Galway; his cherished grandchildren, Ashley Victoria and Aleisha Alexandra Whipple and Jake, Max and Emma Jade Sicard; several nieces and nephews.
