Obituary of Mildred G. Watrobski

Mildred G. Watrobski (Millie), 93, of Glenville, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2015, with her family at her side. Born in Schenectady, she was the beloved daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Bohanski. Millie attended St. Columbus Parochial and graduated from Nott Terrace High School in Schenectady. Millie was employed by the Schenectady Trust Co. as an executive assistant. She married Phil Watrobski on May 27, 1950 at St. Luke's Church. The couple moved to Glenville in 1960. Millie was a tireless volunteer and supporter of all her kids' activities, highest among them sports teams from grade school through their time at Notre Dame - Bishop Gibbons Schools. She re-entered the workforce as a receptionist and medical assistant for allergists Tepper, Tepper and Kennedy for several years. Millie spent endless hours listening to Yankee's broadcast of games by Phil Rizzutto. She enjoyed most sports, was an avid bridge player and had the High Triple on her bowling team. For 65 years she enjoyed the family camp at Great Sacandaga Lake which was built by Phil, the year they were married. Millie always loved dogs, especially Matty, who showed up one day on their doorstep at camp. Mille is remembered fondly for her nightly gin and tonics and her famous Iced Tea (secret recipe). She was predeceased by her brother, Clarence Bohanski, who left this earth far too early. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Phil Watrobski of Glenville; her son, Gary Watrobski and his wife, Kathy of Clifton Park; and a daughter, Meg Watrobski Zocco and her husband, Jay of Glastonbury, CT; five cherished grandchildren, Nick, Kristina and Kaitlyn Watrobski and Abby (fiance Darren Myers) and Mark Zocco. The family wishes to thank, Rachel Winter and Terry Jackson, for all their assistance, loving support and patience extended to Millie, Phil and the entire family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 9, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. with Rev. Jerome Gingras officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited and may call on the family Sunday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Millie's name to Hi-5 Sports, Attention Jodi Eaves, 39 Ginger Terrace, Clifton Park, NY 12065, in honor of her grandson, Nick, who participated in Hi-5 Sports, formally known as Sports are for Everyone (SAFE).
