John Sennett III

Obituary of John Joseph Sennett III

John Joseph Sennett III, 62, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Nov. 13, with his devoted family by his side. Born in Niskayuna, he was the son of the late John Joseph Sennett Jr. and Ann (Pastore) Sennett. John graduated from Niskayuna High School in 1971 and went on to attend Western New England College in Springfield, MA. He worked for his family’s business, Central Plumbing & Heating Supply in Scotia, where he eventually became the proud owner. The business, which was founded in 1954, flourished under his leadership. His sons will carry on the family tradition as the third generation to run the company. On July 12, 1975, John married the love of his life, Linda, and together they raised a beautiful family. John will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and brother. He was thoughtful, ethical, honest, and a loyal friend to many – traits that served him well as a business owner. In his free time, John enjoyed golfing, scuba diving, and boating. A natural handyman, he could often be found working on projects around the house. He was happiest spending time with his family and friends, and always livened up conversations with his humor and one-liners. John was a former member of the Edison Club, the Schenectady Home Builders Association, and many golf leagues. John is survived by his wife, Linda, and their children Mark, Gregory and Rebecca Sennett, along with Gregory’s girlfriend Alison Donofrio. He is also survived by his sister Mary Anne (Raymond) Benza, his sister-in-law Susan (Gary) Smith and his brothers-in-law William (Susan) Roberts and Richard (Christina) Roberts. Several beloved nieces, nephews, and longtime friends also survive. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 5-8 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 9 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville. Entombment will take place at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions can be made to The Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302, in honor of his love for animals; Schenectady City Mission, P.O.
