Obituary of Doris Parker

Doris Irene Parker, 89, passed away peacefully at her home on Nov. 21st, 2015, in the surrounding presence of her family. Born in Apalachin, NY on October 21, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Laura Mead. Doris was a very classy lady, always wearing a skirt. She was sweet, but never afraid to say what was on her mind. Doris had worked at Hannaford Supermarket and also for Walmart. She had previously worked as a salesperson for Stanley Home Products. She was a member of East Glenville Community Church for many years. She loved her Savior Jesus Christ as well as being a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandma. Doris married her husband, John H. Parker, on July 25, 1949. Together they raised two daughters, Terri L. Maxson and Lori (Ed) Potter. She leaves a legacy of six grandchildren; Timothy, Jonathan and David Potter; Rebecca Hayes, Codi Congdon, and their spouses; as well as Andrei and Emma Squires, and their two children, Kaylee and Elizabeth. They felt it was an honor and blessing to take care of such a beautiful lady, following the death of her beloved Johnny. Doris was blessed with eight more great-grandchildren. Funeral services, noon on Tuesday, November 24th at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., East Glenville. Relatives and friends are cordially invited and may also call on the family prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. A funeral procession will leave for the Gerald B.H.
