Obituary of Mark D McKenna

Mark D. McKenna passed away Dec. 23, 2015, following a brief illness. Born in Schenectady, he is the beloved son of Velina (Benacquista) McKenna and the late George McKenna. Mark was a '78 graduate of BH-BL High School. He was employed at Schenectady County Soil and Water Conservation Employer-District (over 13 years) at the time of his passing. Mark was married on June 2, 2001 to the former Karen Richards. He lived in Glenville his entire life. A member of the Turbine-Bush Bowling League, Mark enjoyed his camp at Pine Lake. He and Karen loved to travel. Most of all his greatest pleasure was when surrounded by family and friends. Survivors include his wife Karen McKenna; his mom, Velina McKenna, his loving children; Mark D. McKenna Jr., Maria (Matthew) Potvin and Tara Niedhammer; his brothers, Keith McKenna, Brian (Linda) McKenna, Kevin (Melissa) McKenna and his sister, Debra (Timothy) Sullivan. Mark is also survived by his granddaughter Alyssa Potvin; his mother-in-law, Linda Richards and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours tomorrow (Sunday) from 2-6 PM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. A service celebrating Mark's life will be at 6:15 pm at the funeral home.
