Obituary of Kathleen Mize

Kathleen (Pezzulo) Mize, 62, on Wednesday January 2, 2013, peacefully drifted off to heaven at her home with family at her side. Kathy was born in Ticonderoga, NY, the daughter of the late O'Neil and Catherine (McCaughin) Pezzulo. She was a graduate of Burnt Hills - Ballston Lake High School and Hudson Valley, SUNY at Oneonta and received her graduate degree from the College of St Rose. Kathy taught Home and Careers at Oneida Middle School and then at the Schalmont Middle School, retiring in 2010. She had a love of the beaches at Cape Cod where she enjoyed reading on the beach; she was a volunteer for Hospice at the Joan Nicole Prince Home in Scotia; was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville; as well as being a lover of history. Her hobbies included: knitting, crocheting, sewing, and baking, Survivors include: Katie Cavanaugh (Michael), Maggie Healy (Dennis), Emily Mize; grandchildren: Logan Cavanaugh, Jasten Healy, and expecting a third in March; brothers: Michael Pezzulo, Dr. John Pezzulo, Fr. Neil Pezzulo; sister Mary Amodeo. Many nieces and nephews also survive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Monday January 7, 2013 from the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. Glenville, with Kathy's brother Fr. Neil Pezzulo officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call on the family at the funeral home from 3 to 6 pm on Sunday Janurary 6, 2013.
