Obituary of Elizabeth Haller

Elizabeth (Betty) Jane Haller, 80, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 3, 2016 after a brief illness. Born August 19, 1935, in Erie, Pennsylvania, Betty graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School, and after raising her children, worked at Schenectady Orthopedics, and then in the purchasing department at SUNY Albany. Betty was a high-spirited, fun-loving and compassionate person who dedicated herself to her family, friends and community. She was a member of the East Glenville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Rosary Altar Society of the Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Emma Collins and William Lannin. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, Frank F Haller of Glenville, NY, and her children Teresa M Haller (Sarah) of Charlottesville, VA, Frank J. Haller (Sharon) of Pensacola, FL, Patricia A. Marcy (Duane) of Syracuse NY, and James F. Haller (Kevin) of Whitney Point NY, six grandchildren Christopher J. Haller (Jennifer), Carly A. Abston (Billy), James A. Haller, Max L. Marcy, Kristina A. Haller and Katelyn A. Marcy, one step grandson, Brett Haymans (Elizabeth), one great grandchild, Olivia Haller, and two step great grandchildren Madison and Madelyn Haymans. She is also predeceased by a brother Earl Snare and survived by her siblings Alfreda Sesera, Jackie DeSanti, David Snare, Peggy Rhodes, Peter Snare and Tim Snare, her sister-in-law Mitzi Haller and several nieces and nephews. A mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of Immaculate Conception on Friday, January 8th, at 10 AM. Calling hours at the Glenville Funeral Home, located at 9 Glenridge Road (across the road from the Glenville Target), will be from 5 to 7pm on Thursday, January 7th. Memorial donations can be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady.
