Chuck and Lois Svehla were constantly in my life, as I was always in their home from the 8th grade through my early 20's. His son Mark remains one of my great friends, who would do anything for you if you were in his inner circle. Chuck was always smiling, and had a kind word for everybody in his house. I recall him always offering to help whenever he could, and letting his children grow up at their own pace. I have nothing but fond memories of that house in Glenville, and man did we ever have some good times there. There are just some homes that you felt good walking into, whether or not you can define exactly why - the Svehla home was just that. I look forward to toasting to Chuck (and Lois) this June at the lake, and all of the fond (and outright hilarious) memories that weekend will bring.
