Obituary of William C Neuhaus

William C. Neuhaus passed away on January 12, 2016. He was born in Schenectady, NY on August 3, 1923. He was the son of the late Raymond F. Sr., and Marguerite Cregan Neuhaus. He was educated in the Schenectady School system, and was a graduate of the former Nott Terrace High School, where he excelled in both track and cross country. He attended Randolph Macon College and Siena College. A veteran of World War II. He served as a private with 516 Field Artillery Battalion, US Ninth Army in Europe. The 516th Battalion, with 12 guns fired 16242 rounds of heavy ammunition in action against the enemy. He married Kathleen Louise Nally, R.N. in 1948 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Schenectady, NY. They moved to Clifton Park, NY in July 1956. He was employed for over 40 years with General Electric Co., retiring in 1984 from the finance section of the Power Tube Dept. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, as well as a member of the American Legion, Post 1450 of Halfmoon, NY. He was active in the former Mohawk Baseball Association located on Grooms Rd, serving as secretary and team manager for the Drom’s Tractor team. In his retirement years, William enjoyed traveling, bird watching, crossword puzzles and sharing family photos. He especially enjoyed his “Sunday lunch” at various restaurants in the Capital District when he would order his favorite dish “chicken parmesan.” He was predeceased by his wife Kathleen in 1998, Brother Raymond F. Neuhaus, Jr., his wife Norma, Sister Shirley N. McGettrick her husband George, Sister Audrey N. Dill, her husband Donald and Brother – in - law John F. Nally. He is survived by his sons; Michael W. Neuhaus (Mary) of Malta, Kevin R. Neuhaus (Sue Caponi) of Wilton, John H. Neuhaus of Troy, and daughter Kathleen A. Neuhaus of Clifton Park, Sister Marcia McGettrick (Matthew) of Bridge Water, NJ, Sister in Law Johanna R. Nally of Glenville, NY, as well as three grandchildren; Caitlin Steormann (Robert), Kyle and Kayla Neuhaus and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Neuhaus was a communicant of St. Kateri Tekawitha Parish on Rosa Road in Schenectady, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Kateri Tekawitha Parish, 2216 Rosa Rd, Schenectady. A burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, NY with full Military Honors. Visiting hours for friends and relatives will be on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. .
