Obituary of Anna Sheyon

Anna Sheyon, 99, passed away at Ellis Hospital on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Anna was born in NYC, the daughter of the late John and Mary Ogonowski Sawicky. Anna married John Sheyon on January 21, 1940 and was a loving wife until his passing in 1991. She was a secretary until the start of her family, at which time she dedicated her life to her husband and children. John and Anna raised three children in NYC and the family often vacationed in Saratoga County. They and their children came to the Glenville area more than 30 years ago. Anna is survived by her devoted children, Craig (Melinda) Sheyon, Gregory (Ann) Sheyon, all of Glenville, Nadine Drago (the late Edward) of Latham; seven loving grandchildren; five cherished great-grandchildren; her sister, Nettie Senkow of Los Lunas, New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services on Thursday January 21, 2016 will begin at 8:15 a.m. from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville, NY to be followed at 9 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial from the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., Glenville. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 20 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions in Anna's name are requested to be made to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., Glenville, NY.
