Obituary of Carolyn E. Gallagher

Carolyn E. Gallagher, 95, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. Carolyn was born in Mechanicville, the daughter of the late George and Mae (Wheeler) Gibbs. She was a graduate of Mechanicville High School. She worked at G. E. for 15 years, then became a stay at home Mom, and subsequently worked at The Carl Co. for 25 years, retiring at age 73. Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Diane Gallagher–Buonagurio (David); grandchildren, Kevin and Ryan Buonagurio; and sister-in-law, Ann Sheridan. Nieces, Lynda Watkins, Patricia (Robert) Cusimano, Kathleen (Randy) Colomb and Corinne Flynn; and nephews, Jack Gallagher, Jason (Lori) Temple, Shawn Temple and Joel (Angie) Temple also survive. Her husband, James Gallagher, predeceased her. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Carolyn's caregiver, Robin Barnhill–Russell. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, January 23 at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., East Glenville, and be followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1911 Fairview Ave., Schenectady, NY. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday January 22, 2016. Memorial contributions, in name, are requested to be made to Northeastern Association of the Blind, 301 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12206.
